Janice’s (or Nana’s) house was always full of art supplies and books with places to create and read, throughout the years. Outside of work, Janice continually shared her love of reading with her own family in many ways. For almost three decades, Janice worked with the local community to provide access to literacy resources and services. Later in her career, she became the Librarian of the Mexico Public Library from 1981 to 2009. Janice worked for a short period of time at General Electric, and then at the Maple View Post Office. After high school, Janice married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Howard, in October 1958. Janice was raised in Parish, NY and attended the APW School District. She was born on Septemin Parish, NY to Theodore and Kathryn Barber. Janice Marilyn Howard, age 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 19, 2019.
